Obituary of Antonio Lopes Padeiro

Antonio Lopes Padeiro, 60, of Naugatuck, surrounded by his family passed away on September 19, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Ana (Maia) Padeiro for 43 years.

He was born on November 20, 1956, in Pardilho, Portugal son of the late Leonardo Valente Padeiro and Arlete Da Silva Lopes.

Antonio moved to the United States in 1987 along with his wife and children. He worked for Flabeg Technical Glass for almost 30 years as an Engineer Technician. He was an integral team player of the company and earned a reputation as the "go to person".

He was an ingenious man and his passion was to use his talented hands and fix anything that came his way. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, play with his grandchildren, travel and help anyone that was in need. Antonio was a loving husband, father and friend.

In addition to his wife, Antonio is survived by a daughter Ana Cristina Russo and husband Mikael of East Hampton and a son Marco Lopes and wife Liliana of Cheshire, grandchildren Savannah and Kylie Russo and Ema and Leonardo Lopes. He also leaves a brother Alberto Padeiro and a sister Conceiçao Padeiro both of Portugal and a sister Marilia Da Silva of France along with several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are from 4-6 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
