Obituary of Andrea G. Heyward

Andrea Grace (Beamon) Heyward aged 69, died peacefully on March 4, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital Vitas Unit surrounded in love by her family. Andrea (affectionately known as Andy since childhood) was the oldest daughter of Robert Sr. and Evelyn Beamon, born on January 26, 1951 in Waterbury, CT. Andrea was educated in Waterbury Public Schools, graduated from Crosby High School and also attended Mattatuck Community College. She was previously employed at Waterbury Urban Renewal, Friendly's Restaurants, the U.S. Postal Service and for many years as a 911 operator in both Fort Myers, Fl. and Waterbury, retiring in 2016. She had a passion for flowers, Scrabble, sewing, casinos, CLR, re-upholstery, sports and fashion. Andrea loved music and in her younger years was a member of a singing group called The Soulettes. Andrea had a great many friends, all of whom she adored, surpassed only by her love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her passing her three children: Jason (Layza), Eve, and Weston (Annmarie) of Waterbury; grandchildren: Aaliyah (and her mom Cyn), Aryana, Nolan, Jason Kobe, Elijah, Ayden, and Aria. She also leaves her siblings: Paul (Linda), Michele Pempleton (Greg), Thalia McElrath (Keith Hoffler) and Baron (Maria) of Waterbury, Nicole Phang-lyn (Wayne) of Florida, and Ross (Michele) of North Carolina, several beloved nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Besides her parents Andrea is predeceased by two of her brothers, Robert Jr. and Sidney and her niece Chavonne.
