Obituary of Mary Lucille Carter

Ms. Mary Lucille Carter, 69 departed this life peacefully at Silver Springs Care Center of Meriden Thursday morning May 7, 2020. Mary was born in Waterbury on June 25, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lulu (Mazon) Carter. She attended local schools graduating from Wilby High School. She attended hair dressing school and worked as a hair dresser before her employment at Pratt and Whitney. Mary was a people person with a quick smile and a cheery “hi’” to everyone she came in contact with: family, friends and persons she encountered along the way. She was a very quiet, personal and private person with a good heart; however, she helped a lot of people throughout her life without judgement. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She had a strong faith that she enjoyed sharing with others and was baptized November 28, 1993 as a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mary is survived by one daughter Tammie L. Carter of NC; six grandchildren La-Quish of CT, Kyeshia of TX, Sa-Queen of CT, Asanti of Japan, Qwuanisha of NC, and Trevor of NC; and three great grandchildren, Zi’Yair of CT, Elijah of CT and Solomon of NC. Ms. Carter was predeceased by her daughter Ava and grandparents Sedrick Carter and Lucille (Bonds) Carter. She is survived by her uncles Samuel Carter of CT, Paul Carter of MI and Tom Daniels of CT. She leaves behind a number of family members and beloved friends. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home with James R. Sanders is assisting the family.
