Loving Father, Grandfather, & Ultimate Family Man Robert “Bob” Robinson, 88, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Joan (Stieler) Robinson for almost 60 years. He was born on February 23, 1932 in Schenectady, NY son of the late Theodore and Gladys (McMullen) Robinson. Bob was a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He came to Waterbury to visit his parents where he met the love of his life Joan at a social dance. Bob and Joan and were married on May 5, 1956 and spent 52 years living in Prospect. Prior to his retirement, Bob worked as a Millwright for Scoville Mfg. He loved sports and was a good baseball player. He and his wife loved to watch their favorite teams; NY Yankees and Women’s UCONN Basketball. They truly loved to travel either with close friends or family. He enjoyed watching birds. Bob was a very devout Roman Catholic and valued his faith greatly. Most of all Bob was the ultimate family man. He loved spending time with his daughters Diane and Doreen and being the best “Papa” to his grandchildren. They will all miss him very much! Bob is survived by two daughters Diane Giordano and husband John of Wolcott and Doreen Ironson of Prospect, four grandchildren Christopher Ironson, Robert Giordano and Kaitlyn Synnott, Brianne Krawczyk and husband Dylan and Jenna Ironson, along with several nieces and nephews. He also leaves close family members Beverly and Jerry Russo of Middlebury and Michael and Kim Robinson of N. Providence, RI. He was predeceased by three brothers Marion, Theodore, and Francis. The funeral and burial is private. A public calling hour will be held from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Monday June 8, 2020 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Everyone is required to wear a mask and practice safe social distancing per CDC guidelines.
