Obituary of Solomon Lamar

Solomon Lamar, 42, of Waterbury, passed away on June 27, 2017.

Solomon was born in Waterbury on August 30, 1974 son of the late Rev. Dosia and Mildred (Boatwright) Lamar Jr. He was educated in Waterbury school system, a member of CCME Church, and an avid Mets fan. He formerly worked as a landscaper.

Solomon is survived by a daughter Shantasia Lamar, five brothers David Lamar and his wife Gail, Dosia Lamar III, Lindsey Lamar, Donnell Lamar Sr. and his wife Darlene and Daniel Lamar, two sisters Susan Lamar and Dashona Lamar, his former wife Anntreen Lamar all of Waterbury, seven aunts, three uncles, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by three sisters Mary, Carrie, and Mildred, maternal grandparents Sipeon and Carrie Boatwright, paternal grandparents Dosia and Carrie Lamar Sr.

The funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday July 7, 2017 at Rehoboth Church, 101 East Farm St., Waterbury. Calling hours are from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Road, Waterbury. The family is asked to meet at the church at 9:30 am on Friday.

The family has chosen the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to handle the funeral arrangements of Solomon conducted by James R. Sanders, Funeral Director.
