Obituary of John Howles

John E. Howles, 73, of Prospect, passed away on April 2, 2018 at home with his wife at his side. He was the loving husband of Jean (Barneschi) Howles for over 53 years.

He was born in Manchester on October 28, 1944, son of the late Elwood and Phyllis (Peterson) Howles. Prior to his retirement, John worked as a Truck Driver for Hubbard-Hall and Wyatt Inc. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 443 and 677 for over 30 years. He was a three time state champion Truck Roadeo driver and raced stock cars at Danbury Racearena and Plainville Stadium. He remained an avid Nascar fan. He also coached Little League, soccer, and basketball for Prospect youth. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and he cherished every moment with them.

Besides his wife, John is survived by his children Tracy Morgan and husband Garth of Prospect and Kyle Howles of Wolcott, a sister Pam Guilbeault of Southington, grandchildren Hunter Morgan, Mason Howles and Juliana Howles, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister Kay Schroth.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.
