Obituary of John H. Knight

John “Butch” Knight Jr, passed away Sunday October 28, 2018 at Regal Care of Waterbury after a valiant battle with cancer. Butch was the son of the late John H. and Vassa (Hinton) Knight, born on January 18, 1948 in Waterbury. He was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church where he sang in several choirs. He was educated in Waterbury local schools and was a driver for Wonder Bread and UPS. Butch enjoyed music, particularly dancing and lived an active social life. 

John is survived by a son Terrence (Sharon) Knight, Atlanta, Ga.  and a daughter Melissa Knight  of Queens, NY, a brother Audra V. Knight, Calif. and Richard Knight of Maryland; sisters-in-law: Audrey Knight, Evelyn Knight, and Gladys Knight; grandchildren: MaKaila, Michael, Azariah, and Brianna; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Butch was predeceased by his brothers Robert “Bosco” Knight and Ronny Knight and granddaughter Mya Indigo Hughes.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 10 am at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Rd Waterbury.  Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements with James R. Sanders funeral director.
