Obituary of Lorraine J. Szyndlar

Lorraine J. Szyndlar, 81, of Prospect, surrounded by family passed away on November 11, 2018 at home. She was the loving wife of John F. Szyndlar, Sr. for 62 years.

She was born on June 10, 1937 in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Meidoras) Moniz. Prior to her retirement she worked for Airpax. She enjoyed playing cards, baking and cooking and she dearly loved her grandchildren and pets.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons John F. Szyndlar, Jr. and wife Lisa of Plymouth and James Szyndlar of Prospect, two sisters Anna Oceanas of New Bedford, MA and Rose Bothelo of South Dartmouth, MA, eight grandchildren Zachary, Jacob, Marshal, Mitchell, Samuel, Mark, Donna and Chase, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter Jennifer Szyndlar, a grandson Matthew, brothers Frank and Manny Moniz, and sisters Emily Steele, Evelyn Payne, Mary Taylor, and Virginia Bothelo.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 19 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.
