Obituary of Robert J. Swirski

Robert J. Swirski, 77, of Prospect, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Vitas at St. Mary’s Hospital on December 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  He was the devoted husband of Lesley (Howard) Swirski for 55 years.  

Bob was born in Waterbury on July 14, 1941 a son of the late Cleophas and Florence(Swinik) Swirski.  Bob was a graduate of Naugatuck High School Class of 1959 and went on to achieve an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Post College.   Bob proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. He retired from Howard Engineering Inc. after many years of devotion as Production Manager.  Bob held a small engine private Pilots license and would be heard telling many exciting stories of his numerous adventures in the air and  was a member of The Polish Falcons for several years. Bob was  also an expert fisherman.  But most of all, Bob loved his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Lesley and sons Stephen (Kathy) of Wolcott and Christopher (Danielle Herbst) of Guilford, grandchildren Michael, Joshua, Brooke and Kaila, his sisters Florence Geida and Judy Flaherty of Fla. and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his son Robert E. Swirski his brothers John and Clifford Swirski.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday December 15 th at 9am at St. Anthony’s Church,  4 Union City Road Prospect.  Burial is at the convenience of the family.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
