Obituary of Eleanor Boruch
Eleanor C. (Savich) Boruch, 87, of Prospect, passed away on March 04, 2020 at CT Hospice of Branford. She was the wife of the late Joseph Boruch, Sr.
She was born on June 22, 1932 in Bridgeport daughter of the late Evman and Veronika (Orlowski) Savich. She and Joe owned and operated several businesses; Loft Candy of Waterbury; Prospect Liquor Cabinet and JB Tool Sales. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Centerbank as an Account Supervisor. After retiring from the banking industry, she went on to work as a clerk for the Prospect Library and worked the polls for the elections. She was a very active member of St. Anthony Church; where she was a Bereavement Facilitator and a member of the Ladies Guild. She also was a Dominican Associate of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Columbus, OH and a perpetual member of the Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic - St. Mary’s Chapter in New Haven.
Eleanor is survived by a son Joseph A. Boruch, Jr. and wife Anna Marie and a daughter Veronica E. Trombley and husband Jay, grandchildren Joseph A. Boruch III and his fiancé Anita and Jenna R. LaRiviere and her partner Alex and a great granddaughter Stella Boruch along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three children Deborah Boruch, Douglas Boruch and Susan LaRiviere, and two sisters Wanda Barnoski and Lillian Patuzzi.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic - St. Mary’s Chapter, 5 Hillhouse Ave, New Haven, CT 06511 or The CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery, 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby. Calling hours are from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect.
