Obituary of Francis Michael Petro

Francis “Frank” Petro, 78, of Waterbury passed away on May 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Tammy (Martin) Petro for over 30 years. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Waterbury son of the late Robert and Mary (DiTillo) Petro. Frank worked at Scovilles/Century Brass for over 25 years and was also a Union Steward there. He retired from Bozzuto’s as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was courageously battling colon cancer and unfortunately became a victim of COVID-19. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed watching Fox News, National Geographic, and going fishing. He really enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it was going out to eat, playing cards or cooking them a meal. He was an avid Yankees fan and never missed watching a game. Frank is survived by his children Gil Petro, Robert Petro and wife Jerrie-Dawn, Derek Petro, Joseph Petro, Frank Petro and wife Nancy and Tricia Caporale and husband Thomas, along with three grandchildren Thomas Caporale, Jr., Elise Petro and Derek Petro, Jr. He also leaves siblings Robert Petro, Victoria DeLorenzo, Diane Strong and husband Kenneth, and MaryAnn Mulhall and husband Terrance along with several nieces, nephews and grand dog Chloe. He was predeceased by a brother Raymond Petro. A very big thank you to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center for all of their compassion, humor and help throughout his final years. Also thanks to Northeast Transportation for their kindness and professionalism. No services are scheduled at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at some point in the future.
