Obituary of Marie E. Pellegrini

Marie E. (Conforti) Pellegrini, age 76, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 surrounded by her children at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Arthur F. Pellegrini, her husband of 53 years. Marie was born July 20, 1943 in Bronx, New York, a daughter of the late Oswald Conforti and Susan ( Kunzenmann) Conforti. Marie and her husband moved from Staten Island, New York in 1972 to Naugatuck to raise their family. Her family was the center of Marie’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, she was their biggest cheerleader. Marie never let life’s challenges defeat her, her strong faith and resilient spirit was always evident to those around her. People were drawn to her smile and personality. She made friends of strangers wherever she went. She will be so greatly missed by all. Marie is survived by her loving children Michael and wife Jeany of Southbury, Lisa of Thomaston with whom Marie made her home, her cherished grandchildren Christopher and Julia, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Conforti and her beloved son Joseph. Due to the COVID pandemic unfortunately all services will be held according the CDC guidelines. A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 16, 2020 at 11 am at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
