Obituary of Ruth G. Poole

Ruth Poole, 97, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2020 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of the late Jeremiah Poole. They were married for over 56 years. Ruth was born on April 8, 1923 in Hartsville, SC to the late Monroe and Bessie Williams. Ruth worked at the US Rubber Company in Naugatuck, and The Elton Hotel in Waterbury, during the visit of the late President John F. Kennedy to Waterbury and retired in 1998. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive AME Zion Church in Waterbury, for over 60 Years. She was a founding and active member of the Crownbrook Neighborhood Association and a member of the Waterbury Hartsville Club. Ruth leaves with memories of a beautiful life, her son Jerry Nathaniel Poole and wife Joyce, granddaughter Summerleigh Poole, and great granddaughter Carter Poole. Additionally, she leaves several nieces and nephews. She held a deep love for her entire family and will be greatly missed by all. She was predeceased by her three sisters: Bessie Goodin, Edith Mayshack and Nettie Campbell. Due to the restrictions all services are private.
