Obituary of Helen Walker

Helen Ada Walker, 79, of Waterbury, passed away on May 9, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital. She was born on July 23, 1940 in Waterbury daughter of the late Benjamen Addier Townes and Elizabeth Anna (Wallace) Bennett Townes. Prior to her retirement she worked for the state of CT in the DDS department. Helen is survived by three children Henry J. Walker, Jr. of Waterbury, Bernice Walker-Barnes and husband Elder Alton Barnes of Wolcott/NewHaven and Joyce Walker of Waterbury, along with four grandchildren Là-Kelia Lovett, Eric Walker, Malieke Zimmermann and Michael Walker and five great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister Joan Huggins of Prospect, a sister-in-law Lillie Bennett of Waterbury, along with several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by two brothers Harold Bennett and Charles Bennett and a sister Clara Townes. A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at later date.
