Obituary of Marion C. Petrucci

Mrs. Marion C (Rhodes) Petrucci Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt Mrs. Marion C (Rhodes) Petrucci, 72, entered eternal rest, unexpectedly, on May 23, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital. Mrs. Marion C. (Rhodes) Petrucci was the daughter of the late Malvenia Rhodes Jackson and the late Horace Dinkins. She was born on October 5, 1947 in Augusta, Ga, relocating to Waterbury, CT at the age of 16. She was a graduate of Crosby High School. Mrs. Petrucci an active disciple of Grace Baptist Church since an early age where she participated in many church functions including, the Adult Choir which she sang with for over 50 years. Because her voice was angelic and soulful; she was requested by many to sing at many special occasions requested of her by many. She was also known for her cooking, loving spirit and frankness. All who knew her, loved her, especially her family. Mrs. Petrucci was employed by Century Brass until it closed. She later became employed at and retired from the State of CT/Department of Development Services where she worked over 18 years as a DSW2. Besides being a mother to her own children, she adopted one of the resident’s as part of her family and brought her home for the holidays. Family meant everything to her. She loved everyone, always put others before herself, enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading, studying and hearing the Word of God, she especially loved spending time with her family. On her own, she enjoyed watching her sci-fi movies and doing her puzzle books and singing around the house. She leaves to cherish her fondest memories, a daughter Mrs. Dawn (Minister Randall) Lewis, two sons, Mr. Shawn (Jeanette) Petrucci of Waterbury and Mr. Shajuan (Maisha) Petrucci of NC, she also leaves behind a brother Mr. Calvin (Kim) Jackson of NC. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jade Dennis and Ahreyana Petrucci both of Waterbury and Airman Malachi Lewis stationed in SC, two great grandchildren, Gabriel Andujar and Zoe Laureano, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including two special ones. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Edwina Parks, Mrs. Bertha Parker and Mrs. Archie Ellington and two brothers, Mr. Ernest Rhodes and Mr. Leon Austin-Rhodes. Private funeral services and a celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date.
