Obituary of Karen (Swiderski) Williams

Karen (Swiderski) (Tice) Williams, 67, of Naugatuck, passed away at home on May 27, 2020. She was born on December 16, 1952 in Waterbury to the late Henry Frank Swiderski and Florence (Szydlowski) (Swiderski) Day. She was a 1970 graduate of Naugatuck High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned her associates degree in nursing from Mattatuck College and was class valedictorian. She then earned two bachelor degrees from Southern Connecticut State University, one in nursing and the other in German. She also served in the US Army and was a German translator. She loved gardening and music but her animals always held a special place in her heart. Karen is survived by a son Tyler Williams and his wife Lucy of Plainville, three grandchildren Carson, Cullen and Grace Williams, a sister Elise Donna and her husband Brian of Cheshire, a brother Brian Swiderski and his wife Lauretta of Naugatuck, along with several nieces and nephews. All services are private and at the convenience of the family. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.
