Obituary of Arthur R. Strumski

Arthur R. Strumski December 27, 1936 - July 23, 2020 ARTHUR R. STRUMSKI “Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many” Arthur R. Strumski, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home in Prospect surrounded by family and friends. Arthur was born in Albany, NY on December 27, 1936, son of the late Anthony and Catherine (Jensis) Strumski. He proudly served in the U.S. Army overseas in Germany. He was a Tool Setter by trade and a farmer, fisherman, car tinkerer, antique gun collector, aviation enthusiast and all around fix it guy by nature. Always the life of the party, Art would bring a smile to a perfect stranger, drop everything to help someone in need or just spend a day laughing and enjoying some new adventure with family and friends. He leaves his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years Helen (Vanasse) Strumski, two sisters Dolores Evans of Florida, Juliana McNamara and her husband Roger of Waterbury. He was predeceased by three brothers Donald, Thomas and Henry Strumski. Art leaves a vibrant legacy through his loving children, James (Linda) Strumski of Waterbury, Jeffrey (Karen) Strumski of Waterbury, Ronald (Tina) Strumski of Prospect, Susan Strumski Mandy of Wallingford and Ellen (Steve) Camilli of Southington, thirteen adoring grandchildren: Cassandra, Jessica, Cora, Grace, Olivia, Rjay, David, Trisha, Michael. Ashley, Marissa, Mei Li, and Jade and one great grandchild Mikael. Arthur’s family would like to thank the staff of Vitas Healthcare for their kindness, compassion, care and in home support during this past year. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at 10 :00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. COVID-19 social distancing precautions will be strictly adhered to. All visitors are asked to wear masks as per state regulations.
