Obituary of James Douglas Wilson

James” Jimmy" D. Wilson, 69, of Prospect passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Robbin (Corcoran) Wilson for over 37 years. Jimmy was born March 8, 1951 in Waterbury, CT, a son of the late William and Bernice (Hampston) Wilson. Jimmy was an accomplished builder and owner of J. Wilson Contracting and Remodeling. His exceptional work is evident throughout his home and all over Prospect and surrounding towns. He liked to "putz" in his garage and yard for hours while listening to country music. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and breakfast with Rick, Bob and Denis. Jimmy never missed a Friday night at Baki’s with close friends. He proudly served his country as an Army Reservist, was a past Prospect Game Warden, Volunteer Firefighter and a member of the Prospect Gun Club. He enjoyed building Pinewood Derby cars with his grandson and for many others, a Go Kart with his son,and watching Nascar and football with his family. Besides his wife, Jimmy leaves to honor and cherish his memory and legacy his daughter Jodi Wilson and son William Wilson, grandchildren Kacey Mastropietro and Michael Cihal. Jimmy was predeceased by his sister Wendy Pinto and brother Kenneth Wilson. Jim’s family would like to thank his sister-in-law Mary Corcoran for her expert care and devotion to Jim during his final days.
