Obituary of Raymond G. Milot

Raymond G. Milot, 88, of Waterbury, passed away June 1, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Rolande (St. Germain) (Faucher) Milot and the late Anne (Corbo) Milot.

Ray was born October 23, 1928 in Waterbury, son of the late Ernest and Alice (Deziel) Milot. Ray graduated from Crosby High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he went to work at Timex, then became a Tool and Die Maker. He became a skilled craftsman, retiring from The Stevens Manufacturing Co. in Thomaston about 21 years ago.

Ray was a very kind, gentle and soft-spoken man. He was very hardworking and detail-oriented. He also enjoyed the challenge of repairing small appliances. Ray enjoyed reading and researching and could speak in depth on many topics. In his leisure time, he had a passion for trains which was only surpassed by his love of model airplanes. He enjoyed assembling model planes and was proud to display them in his home.

 

Besides his wife, Rolande, of 23 years, he is survived by two sisters, Rita Alvey and Lorraine DeLuca of Bristol. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Karen Levesque, Ronald Baribault and Richard Faucher, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Rene Milot.

A Memorial Mass will be held on July 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Rd, Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, CT is assisting the family with the arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that random acts of kindness be performed in his memory or a donation be made to The American Heart Association.
