Obituary of Alice Stenson

Waterbury – Alice (Wyrick) Stenson, 78, of Waterbury passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was the widow of Willie Lloyd Stenson.

She was born in Waterbury on September 8, 1938 a daughter of the late Milton and Catherine (Heyward) Wyrick. Alice retired from Uniroyal Chemical after 40 years of service.

She is survived by her son, William A. (Joyce) Stenson, Sr. of Raleigh, NC, her daughter, Yvonne Stenson-Smith of Waterbury, seven grandchildren; Jermel Roundtree, Damiya Jones, Jhakarl Stenson, Anthony Banks, Alexis (Dax) Hill, Tiffany McEachern and Stephanie McEachern and sixteen great grandchildren, sisters Jeanette (William) Thomas, Thelma (Edward) Griffin, Lois Locke and Carol Diggs, two brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by sisters; Kerry Holmes and Evelyn Wyrick and grandsons; William A. Stenson, Jr. and Brandon D. Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury Street, Waterbury. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The family has chosen Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to handle the services of Mrs. Alice Stenson, Funeral Director James R. Sanders, will be conducting the services
