Obituary of James Theodore Genthe

James Theodore Genthe “Ted”, 43, of Prospect died unexpectedly on Thursday September 7, 2017.  He was the husband of Jennifer (Almeida) Genthe.

Ted was born in Concord, Massachusetts May 14, 1974 son of James and Carol (Salonia) Genthe of Watertown. He was a graduate of Pomperaug High School, where he was an all-conference football player. He also graduated from Southern Connecticut State University, where he met Jennifer.  He was a devoted and dedicated husband and father who enjoyed vacations with his family, coaching and attending his kids’ sporting events, cheering on the Patriots, tailgates and entertaining at his home.

Besides his wife and parents Ted is survived by his two beautiful children, son Trevor and daughter Ashtyn, sister Michele and husband Shawn Slater, sister Paige and husband David “Buddy” Blackburn and son Joe and daughters Emily and Sarah, mother-in-law Diane Baummer, sister-in-law Leslie and her husband Ian Sporre and sons Ryker and Kaven, sister-in-law Kimberly and her husband Shannon Michael and sons Brayden and Riley, sister-in-law Lyndsey and husband Robert Brenes and sons JJ, Tyson, and Ethan, and other beloved family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect.  Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery.  Calling hours are from 4-8 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
