Obituary of Jose Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez, 47, of Torrington, passed away on November 30, 2017.

He was born on September 27, 1970 in New Britain son of Petra (Castro) Gonzalez and the late Victor Gonzalez. He was raised by Petra Gonzalez and Luis Rodriguez. He was a groundkeeper for several local golf courses. He was very mechanically inclined and would help anyone who was in need. Jose was a kind hearted and free spirited individual. He had a heart of gold and when you were in his presence you could feel his kindness. His family and his children meant the world to him.

Besides his mother, Jose is survived by his children Jose Gonzalez Jr., Bryan (Nicole) Gonzalez all of SC and Thalia Gonzalez of Torrington, step children Sonia Gonzalez of Waterbury and Elizabeth Torres of Waterbury, siblings Maria Gonzalez, Carmen (Michael) Fisher, Virginia (Clarence) Payne, Victor Gonzalez Jr., Nilsa (James) Gibson and Julie (Conrad) Booker all of Waterbury, seven grandchildren, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his former wife Herminia Casas.

The funeral will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6-8 pm on Monday, December 4, 2017.
