Obituary of Frederick "Fred" E. Corey

Frederick "Fred" E. Corey, 93, of Wolcott, passed away on December 11, 2017 surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving husband of Pamela (Gargari) Corey for over 71 years.

He was born in Waterbury on August 1, 1924 son of the late Mubarak and Balagia (Haddad) Corey. Fred served in the US Navy during WWII. Prior to his retirement he worked for Reymond Baking Company as a top salesman for over 32 years. Fred loved his family more than words could express. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, billiards, and loved to watch Western movies. He loved sports and was an avid NY Yankees fan.

Besides his wife, Fred is survived by his children Edward Corey and wife Mary of Prospect, Judith "Judy" Brady of Wolcott, Michael Corey of Wolcott, Margaret Luddy and husband Robert, Jr. of Prospect, James Corey of Wolcott, and Paul Corey and wife Christine of West Hartford. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christina Luddy, Carolyn Luddy, and Michael Beck; great grandchildren Braeden and Bryson Beck; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by three children Robert, Joyce, and Kenneth Corey, two brothers Michael and Edward Corey, two sisters Freda Shaker and Margaret Ryan, and son-in-law Mark Brady.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.
