Obituary of Carmaine "Carey" Miele

Carmaine "Carey" (Saturno) Miele, of Prospect, wife of the late Albert W. Miele, Sr. passed away peacefuly on December 14, 2017 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Northampton, MA on April 19, 1928, daughter of the late Theresa and Clement Saturno. She was a resident of Prospect for over 60 years.

 

She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. She was a school secretary at Algonquin School for thirty years and worked part time in the Mayor's Office at Prospect Town Hall. She was a former Braille Transcriber for the Xavier Society for the Blind and a perpetual member, a communicant of St. Anthony Church, a former CCD teacher and a member of the Ladies' Guild.

 

She is survived by three sons, Albert W. Miele, Jr. and wife Susan of Glastonbury, Michael J. Miele and wife Karen of Prospect and Steven T. Miele and wife MaryLou of Wolcott, and five grandchildren, Andrea, Jessy, Ryan, Michael and Alaina. She also leaves sisters-in-law Eleanor Saturno of SC, Evelyn Saturno of FL and Patricia Miele of GA, a brother-in-law Jim Miele of Naugatuck, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

She is predeceased by two brothers, Andrew C. Saturno and Ralph J. Saturno.

 

Her greatest love was for her wonderful family and precious grandchildren. She had enduring friendships that she cherished over the many years.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712 or the Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect, 26 New Haven Road, Prospect, CT 06712.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at St. Anthony Church, Union City Road, Prospect. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Calling hours are from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
