Obituary of Harry Eugene Dillon

Harry Eugene Dillon, Sr., 89, of Waterbury, formerly of Prospect, passed away on December 31, 2017 at the Masonicare Hospital, Wallingford. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Johnson) Dillon for over 70 years.

He was born on August 31, 1928 in Waterbury son of the late Michael Harry and Augusta Gladys (McCullough) Dillon. Harry served in the Navy during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for many local dairy companies.

Harry is survived by a daughter Patricia Dillon Caponera and husband Phillip of Homosassa, FL, two sons Harry E. Dillon, Jr. and wife Janet of Bradenton, FL and Scott A. Dillon and wife Marianne of Brandon, VT; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers Frederick Dillon and William McCullough and a grandson Kevin Thomas Dillon.

The funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, CT followed by Military Honors. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be from 10 am until the time of the service.
