Obituary of Rodney Keith Byrd

Waterbury  -  Rodney Keith Byrd, age 58, of Waterbury passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mr. Byrd was born March 9, 1959 in Waterbury a son of the late Ulysses and Beulah (Sears) Byrd.  He attended local schools, enjoyed playing cards and games and loved the Yankees.   He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waterbury.

Rodney is survived by three sisters; Brenda Byrd-Butler, Thaila Warden and Gail Byrd-Fox, four brothers; Odess “OB” Byrd, Richard Byrd, Lloyd “Peter” Byrd and Daniel Byrd, one Uncle; Theo Byrd and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He was predeceased by sisters; Joyce Britt and Audrey Hoffler, brothers; Harwood Byrd, Uylsses “Chickie” Byrd, Jr. and Arthur “Tobe” Byrd.

A Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury Street, Waterbury. The Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road,  Prospect, James R. Sanders, Funeral Director is assisting the family.
