Obituary of Edward William Gaffney

Edward William Gaffney, 65, of Naugatuck, passed away on January 18, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Christine (Fox) Gaffney.

He was born on May 4, 1952 in Providence, RI son of the late Francis and Barbara (Greene) Gaffney.

Ed enjoyed ice fishing and ocean fishing with his friend Joe, and family trips to the beach. He cherished time spent with friends and family.

Besides his wife, Ed is survived by his children David Gaffney and wife Amy of Naugatuck, Eric Gaffney and Sherry of Naugatuck, Kelly DiDonato and husband Jason of Thomaston, Dawn Odell of Torrington, eight grandchildren David, Hannah, Maggie, Crystal, Mackenzie, Emily, Jackson, and Brayden. He also leaves his siblings Thomas, Andrew, Michael, Margaret, and Francis Gaffney, friends John and Carol Lauer and his best friend Al Morigi.

He was predeceased by a brother Gary Gaffney and a twin brother Francis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Monday, Janury 22, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, Salem St., Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
