Obituary of Charles Henry Hurlbut

Charles "Corky" Hurlbut, 81, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rosemary T. (Perazzella) Hurlbut for 50 wonderful years.

He was born in Waterbury on January 14, 1937 son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Yoos) Hurlbut. He served in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked for New England Masonry. Corky was an avid gun sportsman, hunter, and loved target shooting. He was the original Range Officer for the Prospect Gun Club and for over 50 years was the Executive Range Officer for the Chase Rifle and Pistol Association. In his earlier years, he and Rosemary traveled the world.

Corky is survived by a sister Cynthia Deloia of Waterbury, a sister in law, Maryann Perazzella of Wolcott, a niece, Debra Berthold of Wolcott and nephews: Frank Perazzella, Jr. of Wolcott, Robert Perazzella of Wolcott, James Perazzella of Wolcott, and Mark Deloia of Prospect, and a niece Michele Muccino of Wolcott, along several great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Ronald Hurlbut.

All services are private. There are no calling hours. Burial is at Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Wolcott View Manor for all the love and care that Chuck received while in their care.
