Obituary of John Istvan Nagy

John Istvan Nagy, 85, of Prospect, surrounded by his family passed away on January 21, 2018 at Vitas at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving husband of Julia (Keczan) Nagy for 60 years.

He was born on May 27, 1932 in Gegeny, Hungary son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Gujas) Nagy.

Besides his wife, John is survived by his children, John Nagy and wife Nancy of Woodbury, George Nagy of Prospect, James Nagy and wife Lynn of Gorham, ME, and Michael Nagy and wife Tracy of Trumbull. He also leaves a sister Mary Gyorvari of Budapest, Hungary, seven grandchildren John-Michael, Kaitlin, David, Jason, Lauren, Matthew, and Dawson, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Burial is at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with arrangements.
