Obituary of John Zulpa

John Zulpa, 82, of Naugatuck went home to the arms of the Lord on January 24, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was the loving husband and best friend of Carol (Stancavage) Zulpa for over 43 years.

He was born on March 23, 1935 in Waterbury, son of the late Adam and Marcella (Adomaitis) Zulpa. John proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Nabisco until the time of his retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post 201, Elks Lodge 967, Lithuanian Club and St. Vincent Ferrer Church. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and playing Bingo. He loved spending winters in Florida. John enjoyed the company of his friends but his most precious time was with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a funny, kind, and loving person that will be missed by all that knew him.

Besides his wife, John is survived by his children Cheryl Martin and husband Joseph of Naugatuck and Jonathan Zulpa of Bloomfield, four grandchildren Kennedy, Jilian, Savannah, and Madison, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Alphonse Zulpa.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on February 1, 2018 at St. Vincent Ferrer Church Naugatuck.  Full Military Honors will be held immediately following Mass at the Church.  Burial will be held at the Lithuanian Cemetery, Waterbury in the Spring. There are no calling hours.
