Obituary of Emma "MOM" Cruz

Emma Cruz, 69, of Waterbury, passed away on February 25, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 2, 1949 in Puerto Rico daughter of the late Jose Ramon Mercado and Cruz Maria Rodriguez. Emma was a truly loving person and will be missed by all who knew her especially her family.

Emma is survived by her children; Madeline (Wilfredo Nelson) Cruz, Margarita (Carlos Neto) Cruz-Neto, Manuel (Carmen Maldonado) Maldonado, Maria Maldonado-Douglas, and Angel (Karen Maldonado) Maldonado all of Waterbury; three sisters Rosa (Victor) Colon, Gladys Colon both of FL, and Daisy Colon of NC, fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and a good neighbor and friend Al.

She predeceased by a brother Felix Colon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm on Saturday, March 10 2018 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be from 4 pm until the time of the service.
