Obituary of Albert F. Cabana

Albert F. Cabana, 86, of Waterbury, passed away on April 29, 2018 at Vitas at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Blanche (Despins) Cabana for over 47 years.

He was born on July 10, 1931 in Waterbury, son of the late Ernest C. and Blanche (Hebert) Cabana. He proudly served his country in the Navy on the USS McCard during the Korean War. After serving, he attended night school to get his Class A Master Electrical License. He had his own electrical business and worked for Scovill Manufacturing. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Master Electrician for Travelers. He was a member of the Bristol Fish and Game Club, Oakville VFW Post 7330, and Shrine of St. Anne's Church.

He is survived by a niece, Karen Chicoine; a nephew, Gary Baldowski; great nephew, Scott Chicoine, a great niece, Kristine Chicoine, and his companion Anita Weber.

He was predeceased by siblings, Bertha Amico, Rita Baldowski, Henry Cabana, Wilfred Cabana, Doris Tata and a nephew Thomas Amico.

The family would like to thank Dr. Caporasso and staff, Dr. Zhang at St. Mary's Hospital, and Chaplin Judy Bellemare for being there when we needed her the most. Special thanks to Eugene Scarpa, his lifelong friend, great friends Richie Hines, Robert Spino, Thomas Bohuski and the entire Olear family.

The Funeral will be held at 9:15 am from Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect for 10 am Mass on Friday, May 4, 2017 at The Shrine of St. Anne's Church, 515 S Main St, Waterbury. Burial with Military Honors will be at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 pm Thursday.
