Obituary of Charles DiLuzio

Charles DiLuzio, 96, of Naugatuck entered into eternal rest Aug 1, 2018 at the Vitas unit of St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was the loving husband of Harriett ( Schryver) DiLuzio for over 71 years.

He was born November 2, 1921 son of the late Frederico and Salvatrice (Didio) DiLuzio.  Charles was a sales manager for Atlas Aero prior to his retirement.  Charles loved to serve his church and was an usher for The Holy Rosary Church of Ansonia, a member of the American Legion Naugatuck Post 17, past president of the Lion’s Club Orange and a member of the Naugatuck Senior Center.  Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Charles greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren most especially with Chase his great grandson who was born the day before his 95th birthday, his best birthday present ever.

Charles is survived by his daughters Laurie (Robert) Muller of Naugatuck, Sandra Abel of Derby, grandchildren Marissa (Christopher) Rowe, Jamie Muller, Jenna Muller and her boyfriend Craig Waibel and Thomas Abel, and four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Frederick, and granddaughter Tracy Abel, sisters Mary Marino, Eleanor Bunk and Concetta Berardi and son in law Thomas Abel.  Charles family would like to thank Charles’ beloved caretaker, Tracy Rice.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10am on Tuesday August 7, 2018 at The Holy Rosary Church 10 Father Salemi Drive Ansonia 06401 with burial to follow at Mount St Peters Cemetery 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby. Please meet directly at the church.  Calling Hours will be Monday August 6 from 6-8 pm at The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Rd. Prospect.  Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. 

Please Note:  Due to very serious allergic reactions, please do not send floral arrangement with Lilies or heavily scented perfumes.
