Obituary of Gary E. Miner

Gary E. Miner, 84, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 5, 2018. He was the loving husband of Shamira (Sarmast) Miner for over 53 years.

He was born on June 3, 1934, in Waterbury, son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Copeland) Miner. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.  Prior to his retirement, Gary worked as a Quality Engineer for Alinabal. For decades, he was also a Manager for Colonial Plaza Movie Theater.

Besides his wife, Gary is survived by his children and their families: Edward (Ninva) Miner of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Christina) Miner of Winter Springs, FL and Melissa (Michael) Miner of Waterbury, along with grandchildren Zoe, Zander, Cameron, Brandon and Nova. He also leaves his son in law Michael Frank of Waterbury with whom he had a very special bond.

He was predeceased by a sister Virginia Miner.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be from 5 pm until the time of the service.
