Obituary of Joseph W. Valiante, Sr.

Joseph W. Valiante, Sr., 71 of Waterbury, passed away at home on August 3, 2018.

He was born in Bridgeport, on August 18, 1946, son of the late Anthony and Christina (Myers) Valiante. Prior to his retirement, Joe worked for over 20 years as an Auction Coordinator for DoveBid. In his younger days, Joe enjoyed bowling and loved to go fishing with his sons. He was a diehard fan of both NY Yankees and Duke Blue Devils Basketball. Joe was a dedicated father and worked very hard to provide for his family.

Joe was a very proud man and lived life on his own terms, which was true to his personality. He fought his health battle on his own terms right up to the very end. He did it with pride and dignity and never complained and stayed strong even to the very end.

Joe is survived by his sons Joseph W. Valiante, Jr. of Waterbury and James Valiante and wife Pamela of South Windsor. He also leaves four grandchildren Sheyanne, Joseph III, Blase, and Rosa Valiante, two brothers Duane and Anthony Valiante Jr., along with two nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is assisting the family with the arrangements.
