Obituary of Francis S. Zapatka

Francis “Frank” S. Zapatka, 80, of Waterbury, surrounded by his family passed away on September 2, 2018 at home. He was the honorable and loving husband of Jane (Tobin) Zapatka for over 44 years.

He was born on March 2, 1938 in Union City son of the late Joseph and Jeanne (Morytko) Zapatka. Prior to his retirement, Frank worked as an Electronics Technician for Timex. He was a Past Grand Master of Knights of Columbus in Utah and Past President of the CT Cactus and Succulent Society.

Frank is survived by a son Alexander Zapatka and wife Keisha of Waterbury and his beloved granddaughter Abigail. He leaves a brother Eugene Zapatka and wife Mary of Waterbury along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter Kathryn “Katy” Zapatka and a brother Ronald Zapatka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church, 8 E Mountain Rd, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
