Obituary of Warren F. Barrett

Warren F. Barratt, 83, of Prospect, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathleen “Kay” (Brillis) Barratt for over 36 years.

He was born on May 29, 1935 in Waterbury son of the late Fred and Charlotte (Grohs) Barratt. He graduated from Levenworth High School, Class of 1952.  Prior to his retirement, he was the President and owner of Barratt Tool Company. He was a 45 year member of the Wolcott Lions Club and was given a lifetime membership. He was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award and the Knights of the Blind Award from the Lions International for his outstanding humanitarian services. Warren was an honest caring giving and gentle man who was brought up with good values of giving back to his church and community. If you were a friend of Warren’s, you were a friend for life.

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Judith Barratt of Wolcott and two sons Richard (Gretchen) Barratt of Rockland, ME and William (Lisa) Barratt of Wolcott, a sister Carolyn (Dale) Drzewecki of Middlebury, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his first wife Roseanne (Costello) Barratt and a sister Thelma Wheller.

The funeral will be held at 10 am on Monday December 10, 2018 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2-4 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
