Obituary of Laurie Jean Anderson

Laurie Jean Anderson, 60, of Waterbury passed away February 2, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.

Laurie was born in Waterbury on March 15, 1958 a daughter of Donald and Jacklyn (Howe) Anderson.  She was a Graduate of American School For The Deaf class of 1978, she then attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C..  She worked for many years with the United States Postal Service at the Bridgeport Branch. 

Laurie loved being outdoors with nature and especially fond of feeding her beloved birds, she had a special part of her heart for the precious Cardinals. She was an at Expert Counted Cross Stitch and leaves many framed memories to her family.  Laurie also loved doing very intricate puzzles on the iPad and loved watching games shows.  Reality programs were her favorite TV shows as well as the UCONN Girls Basketball Games and of course the New England Patriots.  Staying active with the Deaf Community, attending parties and reunions was also a highlight of her years after retirement.

Laurie leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Donald and Jacklyn Anderson; brother, Donald Anderson, Jr. and his significant other Carol Morrell; nephew, Jared Carroll and his significant other Angela Masciangioli and niece, Della Anderson; uncle George Howe and aunts, Debbie and Amy Anderson; along with her dear friend and roommate Hortencia.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Martin and Ada Anderson and George L. and Mildred Howe.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.  Calling hours will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday.  Burial in New Pine Grove Cemetery Waterbury will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
