Obituary of Amy Viola Anderson

Amy V. Anderson, 101, surrounded by her family passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Cheshire House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Bertil Anderson for 54 years. Amy was born in Waterbury on March 8, 1917, daughter of the late James and Mamie (Reed) Brundage. 

 

She worked for Holgrath Corporation in Cheshire for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, animals, and took great pleasure in spending time with her family

 

Amy is survived by her daughter, Gail Schaffner and her longtime partner Thomas Barnaba of Washington, CT, two sisters Emily Mohrmann of Middlebury and Gertrude Symonovich of Waterbury, and a brother Edward Brundage of New Milford. She also leaves two grandchildren Thomas Schaffner and Mary Portz of Chapin, SC, and Tammy (Bastenbeck) Costantino and her wife Susan of Wolcott, four great-grandchildren, Alyssa & Meghan Bastenbeck and Zachary & Victoria Schaffner, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her sister Pearl Brundage.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1555 Hamilton Avenue, Waterbury.
