Obituary of Ricky Augustus Banks

Waterbury – Mr. Ricky “Slick Rick” Augustus Banks, age 63, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was the loving husband of Dorene (Taylor) Banks.

Ricky was born on September 21, 1955 in Elizbeth City, NC a son of the late Roy and Sarah (Davis) Banks, SR.  He retired from the Waterbury Dept of Education after 20 years of service and was presently employed by Aron Security.

Mr. Banks was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He loved listening to music collecting Instruments and Pictures, spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.  Most of all he loved his family and friends.

Besides his wife he leaves to cherish is memory his siblings; Clarence and Barbara Banks and Yvonne Banks Jackson and his sisters-in-law; Virginia (Toni) Banks and Denise Hankerson of GA and Aunt Martha E. Butts of NC and many nieces and nephews and cousins

He was predeceased by brothers; Roy Banks, Jr., Wendell Banks, Sr., sisters; Geraldine Banks Herbert and Martha Banks Barksdale.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.  Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  James R. Sanders Funeral Director.
