Obituary of Julia Priscilla Wiley

Waterbury- Julia Priscilla (Butler) Wiley, age 83, passed away March 4, 2019 peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital Vitas Unit surrounded by her loving family.

Julia was born October 28, 1935 in Ridge Spring, South Carolina. A daughter to the late Joseph and Bulah (Richardson) Butler. Julia was a graduate of Benedict College in South Carolina where she earned her Teaching Degree. She retired from the Head Start Program of NOW Inc. and also retired from the Waterbury Public School System, where she worked with Disabled Students.

Julia was a lifelong active member of Grace Baptist Church, she was a member of the Senior Choir and an Usher. She was also a member of the Culinary Ministry and Church Decorating Committee. She loved being with her family and family gatherings.

She will be missed by her daughter and best friend Jerrilyn (Wiley) Kendrick and her grandchildren; Ephfrom (Michelle) Kendrick, Julius (Lupe) Kendrick, and granddaughter Julia Kendrick. Three great grandchildren; David, Autumn and Javier and a host of special cousins.
 

She is predeceased by her parents; Joseph and Bulah (Richardson) Butler and her Aunt who raised her Jane Nesbit her husband Ernest Wiley, son in law Raymond Kendrick, three brothers and one sister.

Services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church 65 Kingsbury St. Waterbury, CT. Calling hours; 10am until the services begin. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect is handling the arrangements. James R. Sanders Funeral Director.
