Obituary of Joseph Martin Labutis

Joseph M. Labutis UTC retiree Joseph M. Labutis, 88 of Prospect passed away on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joan (Olcott) Labutis for 64 Years. Joe was born on November 12, 1930 in Waterbury son of the late Joseph and Mary (Zdanis) Labutis. He graduated Leavenworth High School Class of 1948 and then worked in Scovill Mfg. Co until 1954. He started in Pratt & Whitney as a draftsman and transferred to Sikorsky Aircraft where he retired in 1986 as a design analyst. His hobbies were building model airplanes and golf. In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by his two daughters, Susan Jacobs and husband Michael of Prospect, Diane Lopez and husband John of Orlando, Fl. and grandson Keith Grabowski of Shelton, CT. A memorial Service and internment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
