Obituary of Paulo Ricardo Cruz

Paulo Ricardo Cruz, 66, of Waterbury passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Danbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Eliana (Medeiros) Cruz for over 43 years.

He was born in Minas Gerias, Brazil on February 20, 1953, son of the late Henrique Cruz and Cleuza (de Oliveira) Paes. Paulo's greatest passion was sailing. His family was his pride and joy.

Paulo is survived by two children Marcela Medeiros Cruz and husband John Alvim of Naugatuck and Daniel Medeiros Cruz of Waterbury, four grandchildren Jullia, Andrew, Alice, and Emily, two brothers Carlos Paes and Yeddo Bittencourt, four god-daughters Gimena Duarte, Genani Duarte, Mariana Paes and Andrezza Begert, along with several nieces and a nephew.

The Funeral will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will take place in Brazil at some point in the future. Calling hours will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the funeral home.
