Thelma B. Wages (1936-2019)

Waterbury – Thelma B. Wages, age 82, of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 2, 2019. She was the widow of William Wages, Jr.

Mrs. Wages was born June 15, 1936 in Columbia, SC a daughter of the late Lewis and Essie (Spann) Boyles of Columbia SC. She was educated in Columbia SC, prior to relocating to Waterbury, CT. She worked 28 years at Waltec American Forgings Company, retiring in 1995. Mrs. Wages was a foster parent since 1997.

She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church. She was an avid sports fan and a loving foster parent to many children. She also loved to cook and enjoyed being around her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Wages is survived by her son Horace "Rudy" (Dawn) Wages, and daughter Deborah (Willie) Stevenson. She is also survived by one sister, Eula Mae Hofer of Columbia SC. Mrs. Wages is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and a host of foster grandchildren.

Mrs. Wages was predeceased by four brothers and one loving sister Ms. Delia Myers.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 11, 2019 at 10 am at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury St. Waterbury. Calling hour will be from 9am to time of services at the church. Burial will be in the family plot at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at Grace Baptist Church at 8:30 am. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, James R. Sanders Funeral Director.
