Obituary of Dan Tuccillo
Daniel Tuccillo, 78, of Prospect, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Vitas unit of St. Mary’s Hospital. Dan was the devoted husband of Helen (Doner) Tuccillo for 57 years.
Daniel was born April 20, 1941 in Waterbury, a son of the late Ralph R. and Aurelie (Hamel) Tuccillo.
Dan graduated from high school and then went on to establish General Borings, Inc. of Prospect and to marry the love of his life, Helen. He and his father built the family home in Prospect. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed racing his harness horses all over New England, winning many races. Dan and his son were the first winners of the Father and Son Driving Championship at the Rochester Fair. He was a member of the Goldwing Trike Club in Florida. Dan’s greatest joy was his family. Memories of time spent at the lake will always be treasured by his family. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Dan will be forever missed by his wife Helen, son Daniel and daughter Bernadette Casson all of Prospect, his grandchildren; Nicholas and Christina Tuccillo and Alyssa and Brittney Casson, a brother Ralph and his wife Margaret Tuccillo of New Hartford, a brother-in-law Joseph Doner of Bristol, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends that he treated as family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Rd, Prospect, with burial to immediately follow in Prospect Cemetery, 1 Union City Rd, Prospect. Calling hours will be held Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect.
