Obituary of Frances E. Hickman

Waterbury – Frances E. Hickman, 88, of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center.  She was the widow of the late James Hickman.

Frances was born August 13, 1931 in Edenton, NC daughter of the late David and Evie (Holley) Taylor.  Frances attended schools in Edenton.  She and her family moved to Waterbury in 1953. She worked at Timex Corporation and retired with more than 50 years of service.  She was a member of Zion Baptist Church for over 50 years, she loved attending Church on Sunday’s until her health prevented her.  Frances loved her family and enjoyed all family reunions, holidays and other special occasions. 

Frances leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews; Robert (Marta) Hill, Joyce Ellison, William (Cathy) Hill, Patricia Sockwell, Rufus Freeman, Doreen (Ricky) Banks, David Taylor and a host of great and great, great nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by brothers; Wadell Taylor, Henry Taylor, sisters; Mary Kellam, Emma Evans, Lela Hill and Annie Freeman.  And nieces; Annette Perry and Marion Mill

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24,^.at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect with James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
