Obituary of Joseph J. Harris

Joseph “Joey” Harris, 56, of Waterbury, died unexpectedly on September 9, 2019. He was the loving husband of Melinda (Cannon) Harris for over 29 years.

Joey was born in Quebec, Canada on September 11, 1962 to Jeannine (St. Onge) Harris of Dallas, TX and the late Joe James Harris. The younger days of his life he moved around due to his father serving in the U.S. military. He moved to Beacon, NY in 1975 where he called home. Joey graduated from Beacon High School in 1981. He proudly served his country in the US Army.  He was a resident in Waterbury, CT for 25 years.

Joey was a devoted father and loved fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling, washing his car, and just laughing. He was a lifetime fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He always believed in living life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Besides his wife and mother, Joey is survived; his children, Sharese Harris, Tyeasha Harris, and Tyrell Harris; and a sister, Nancy Beasley of Dallas, TX; nieces, Brittnie Pinkard and Gabriella Henson. He is also survived by many cousins, loved ones from the Silburn family and many others.

The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect with full Military Honors following. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be from 12 pm until the time of the service.
