Obituary of Colleen Piland-Pierce Shealy

Waterbury – Colleen (Piland-Pierce) Shealy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 14, 2019 after battling cancer for the past four months.  She passed away surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of Daryl Shealy.

Colleen was born July 4, 1957 in Waterbury a daughter of Calvin Piland of NC and Brenda (Parker) Piland of MA.  She was a 1976 graduate of Wilby High School.

Colleen’s love for the Lord and her family was endless and she was a loyal Disciple of Grace Baptist Church. 

Besides her husband and parents, she leaves her beloved children; Erica (Michael) Pierce of Ansonia, Nicole (Thomas) Pierce of West Haven and John (Renata) Pierce Jr. of Waterbury, siblings: Calvin Piland Jr. of CA, Sheryl Piland of CA and Anthony Piland of MA, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her nephew Scottie Pierce of Waterbury who was like a second son, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice, Dr. Alston, Maria, Lilly, The Harvey family, Sharquita and Victoria for providing exceptional care and support during our angel’s final days. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church, 65 Kingsbury Street, Waterbury.  Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
