Obituary of Alphonse Anthony Marcarelli Sr.

Alphonse A. Marcarelli Sr., 91, of Bethany passed away peacefully at Beacon Brook Health Center on Tuesday October 22, 2019.  He was the loving husband of the late Joann (Triano) Marcarelli.

Al was born September 20, 1928 in New Haven, a son of the late Pasquale and Nancy Macarelli. Prior to his retirement, Al owned and operated the “Countryside Restaurant” of Bethany as well as “Countryside Pool and Tennis” of Bethany.  He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.  He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

Al is survived by his sons Pasquale Macarelli and Alphonse Macarelli Jr., of Bethany and his three grandchildren; Nicholas, Gabriella and Alphonse III of Bethany.

He was predeceased by siblings; Mary, Edward, Antoniette and Louise Macarelli.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family.
