Obituary of Marcella B. Lund

Waterbury – Marcella “Marcy” (Genereux) Lund, 96, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2019 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck.

Marcy was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and a longtime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and was always known to be the life of the party.

Marcy is survived by her two sons William Lund and wife Theresa of Naugatuck and Richard Lund and wife Lee of Fairborn, OH; a sister Lauria O’Connor and husband Donald of Meriden and a sister in-law Ann Genereux. She also leaves her grandchildren, Steven Lund and wife Valerie, Doreen Lund, Darlene Freyermuth and husband Stephen, John Byrd and wife Valerie, great grandchildren, Nicholas, Allyson, Sarah, Emmett and his mother Erica, Ethan, Samantha, Zachary, Jimmy and Calla, 2 great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Yvonne Genereux, a brother, Raymond Genereux, a sister Lorraine Bessette, and grandchildren, Kevin Lund, Shaunda Haynes and Mike Byrd.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Brook Health Care Center for their compassion and kindness throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
